The MacMillan Suite is named for the MacMillan who received the tract of land the Golden Horseshoe Inn rests on.
This MacMillan was, most likely one of the Scots-Irish who immigrated to this country during one of the five great waves from Ulster Ireland into the original 13 colonies beginning in 1717 and ending in 1775.
The ancestors of the MacMillan family, both in America and Scotland, still come to visit the building and the land each year as a part of their family reunion.
